چکیده

We first establish a quantum microscopic scattering matrix model in multidimensional wave-vector space, which relates the phase space density of each superlattice cell with that of the neighbouring cells. Then, in the limit of a large number of cells, a SHE (Spherical Harmonics Expansion)-type model of diffusion equations for the particle number density in the position-energy space is obtained. The crucial features of diffusion constants on retaining the memory of the quantum scattering characteristics of the superlattice elementary cell (like e.g. transmission resonances) are shown in order. Two examples are treated with the analytically computation of the diffusion constants.

Diiusion Approximation of a Scattering Matrix Model of Semiconductor Superlattices

In this paper we derive a diiusion equation for electron transport in a superlattice. The starting model is a quantum scattering matrix model which relates the phase space density of each superlattice cell with that of the neighbouring cells. Then, in the limit of a large number of cells, a diiusion equation for the particle number density in the position-energy space is obtained, which is of '...

Dilations‎, ‎models‎, ‎scattering and spectral problems of 1D discrete Hamiltonian systems

In this paper, the maximal dissipative extensions of a symmetric singular 1D discrete Hamiltonian operator with maximal deficiency indices (2,2) (in limit-circle cases at ±∞) and acting in the Hilbert space ℓ_{Ω}²(Z;C²) (Z:={0,±1,±2,...}) are considered. We consider two classes dissipative operators with separated boundary conditions both at -∞ and ∞. For each of these cases we establish a self...

Wave Propagation at the Boundary Surface of Inviscid Fluid Half-Space and Thermoelastic Diffusion Solid Half-Space with Dual-Phase-Lag Models

The present investigation deals  with the reflection and transmission phenomenon due to incident plane longitudinal wave at a plane interface between inviscid fluid half-space and a thermoelastic diffusion solid half-space with dual-phase-lag heat transfer (DPLT) and dual-phase-lag diffusion (DPLD) models. The theory of thermoelasticity with dual-phase-lag heat transfer developed by Roychoudhar...

محاسبه سطح مقطع پراکندگی تفکیک پروتون- دوترون در انرژی‌های میانی

In this paper, we reformulate three-nucleon breakup scattering in leading order approximation by considering spin-isospin degrees of freedom. At first, considering the inhomogeneous part of Faddeev equation, which is a valid approximation in high and intermediate energles, we present the Faddeev equation as a function of vector Jacobi momenta and spin and isospin quantum numbers. In this new fo...

Electron Transport in Semiconductor Superlattices

In this paper, we rigorously derive a diffusion model for semiconductor superlattices, starting from a kinetic description of electron transport at the microscopic scale. Electron transport in the superlattice is modelled by a collisionless Boltzmann equation subject to a periodic array of localized scatters modeling the periodic heterogeneities of the material. The limit of a large number of p...
